 Tennis News

Greetings from the Tennis Chair!

We are looking forward to a great active summer including lots of tennis!

Memorial Day round robin for Kids (5-27 @ 1:00) and Adults (5-28 at 9:00). We still have openings on various teams of different skill levels for summer. Out of neighborhood players are permitted after paying a $35 outsider’s fee. I would like to create a singles challenge ladder- please contact me if you would like to be included. We have singles players playing in K-Swiss/ Ultimate tennis having a lot of fun.

The boys’ team was a huge success, thanks to Kathryn Begg for beginning what is hoped to be one of many Junior ALTA teams. In addition Kathryn organized lessons for interested kids in the neighborhood. They had a blast! The lessons provided by Pure Tennis are over for summer but we hope to continue them in the fall. Please contact me if you have a child and are interested in Junior Alta teams.

The men’s A-1 team made it to Spring City Finals on May 19. What incredible tennis to watch-. Unfortunately the team lost, but they still brought home an ALTA salad plate. Congratulations to Adam Silverstein, Allen Barnett, Tom Barrows and Tom Moses!

We will be attempting some Friday night tennis socials this summer. Possibilities include Cardio Tennis, Round Robins, Clinics, and games with kids. We would love to have you involved!
Upcoming Round Robins will be July 4th weekend and Labor Day Weekend.

Happy Hitting!

Tennis members / teams please continue to lock the gates, turn off the lights, and pick up all of the trash after you finish playing. These are your tennis courts, clubhouse, and observation decks please help us by keeping them clean!
